Between July 2-6, a Ukrainian delegation from Mykolaiv City Administration and One Works, took part in the UIA World Congress of Architects 2023 in Copenhagen. Afterwards, COWI welcomed the delegation on the premises of Arkitema, and presented Danish best practices for masterplan development, focusing on the solid waste sector.
The main effort in the months of July and August was focused on initial data collection, legal and institutional analysis, and analysis of existing situation in Water, Energy and Solid Waste. Mykolaiv City, with their respective utility companies, have received multiple questionnaires with requests for information to fill the gap in currently available data. COWI is actively working with experts from our partner company One Works, on acquiring adequate GIS data for the Mykolaiv Master Plan. Coordination meetings with One Works are conducted weekly to maintain adequate project synchronization.
COWI has drafted three documents outlining the vision for development of the three sectors (Water, Energy and Solid Waste) in Mykolaiv till year 2050. The drafts were presented at a workshop with attending experts from One Works, officials from the Mykolaiv City Administration and relevant utilities. All comments following the discussion will be reviewed and incorporated into the final versions of the documents. The visions will be presented at Sounding Board meetings.
An overview of the activities carried out till date are presented in the table below.
